What a wall is actually for
On a sloped property a wall is often the difference between a yard and a hillside — and between a building site that works and one that does not.
It does three jobs at once: it maximises usable space, it controls drainage and runoff properly, and it gives a new home a secure site to sit on.
Built from stone, set so it holds. On this island it is also the wall that looks like it belongs where it is, rather than something trucked in from somewhere else.
Engineered block, dry-stacked. Cleaner lines, very consistent, and a good answer where the wall is doing structural work along a driveway or a building pad.

Most 3-foot retaining walls land between $100 and $200 per linear foot. Where yours falls depends on the location, how easy the site is to reach, and the type of block or rock used. That is a range from walls we have built on this island, not a quote — your number comes from walking the site.
Every wall starts the same way — walking the property, hearing what you are trying to achieve, and working out the right plan for that slope. And as with everywhere on Maui, the approach changes with the terrain and the soil type we are dealing with.
